Speaking to itVARnews, VP- IT Divison, Samsung India Electronics, Sanjay Sharma said, "Firstly, we are planning to open more branch area sales offices. Secondly, we are planning to cover and open more digital plazas in the country. Soon we will be opening our first IT retail centre in Delhi in the month of December this year so that the customers can personally come, see and experience the products. It will help them to understand benefits and uses better."

Samsung is also planning expansion in the B and C class cities with direct presence through area sales offices. These ASOs are going to be more than 80 in the country. In order to improve the service support, Samsung will provide the post sales service in these areas by these ASOs.

Moreover, we are focusing on the channel enhancement. Apart from this, we are giving thrust to the end customer education and marketing and sufficient support infrastructure to our users and the channel."

When questioned about its strategy to take on the competition, Sharma replied, "We face different competition level in different product categories as all our products have their own specialties and USPs. We have been able to handle competition in a great manner and have been giving stiff competition to the other players by introducing world-class technologies and being the number one for many products in the Indian market."
