Invensys to Provide Operator Training Simulator to MLNG Tiga

Invensys Operations Management announced that it has signed a five-year, multi-million dollar contract to supply a comprehensive operator training, process design and operation optimization solution to Malaysia LNG Tiga Sdn Bhd (MLNG Tiga). This is the third liquid natural gas (LNG) plant located within the Petronas LNG complex in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia. The Petronas LNG Complex is the worlds largest integrated LNG production facility at a single location, with a total of eight production trains and a combined capacity of approximately 23 million tons per annum.

Under the terms of the contract, Invensys will provide SimSci-Esscor operator training simulator (OTS) technology to train MLNG Tigas processing plant operators during startup and shutdown of LNG trains. Besides facilitating process design, optimizing operation processes and diagnosing equipment operation, the solution also allows for safe and rapid evaluation of operational procedures.
