3Com Corporation announced that it has taken Indian customer and partner service up a notch with the appointment of six regional distributors (RDs) to cover 10 of the countrys biggest business centres.

Inspira Enterprise, which 3Com appointed in February to lead its sales, marketing, distribution and service efforts in India, has brought on board distributors in the key cities of Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat, Delhi, Hydrabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Cochin and Hyderabad. Under Inspira, these RDs, who have local knowledge and are better equipped to handle local dealers, resellers and system integrators (SIs), will open new sales channels in regions and territories that have not been tapped in the past.

The new distributors, which will exclusively sell 3Com products for networking, are Netlab Solutions (Delhi), Linkworld Technologies (Mumbai), Hilink Networks (Pune), Ecaps (Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin and Hyderabad), Pardata Systems (Bangalore) and K-Two Infocom (Gujarat).

Over the next six months, Inspira will appoint more RDs in the cities of Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Indore, Raipur, Goa and Nagpur, and the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Kerela.

Explaining the speed of the appointments, Prakash Jain, chairman of Inspira, said: Quick recruitment will let 3Com ramp up immediately on the crucial task of providing local dealers, resellers and SIs with the support needed to drive sales, and on the longer term, work of brand building. These appointments come at an opportune time, coinciding with 3Coms launch of its H3C enterprise brand. 3Com recently announced that its enterprise grade networking products will carry the H3C brand, following deployment successes and widespread customer acceptance of H3C solutions in China and selected markets in Asia Pacific.
