Epson organised its 6th All India Logistics Meet in Goa. This meet saw employees from all its twelve warehouses, in addition to its suppliers attending. The meet serves as a forum to discuss ways and means of synchronizing output from all logistics partners to improve overall efficiency.

The theme for this years meet was Maximize Customer Satisfaction while Maximizing Cost Reduction. Commenting on the meet, J K Suresh, GM Commercial, Logistics and IT, Epson India said, During the last year a very specific project named DHANUSH was implemented to achieve Cost Reductions. This year too our main focus is on Customer Satisfaction and Cost Reduction.  We have identified a number of focus areas to reduce costs like selecting an Indian forwarder for Imports, change of mode of Import from Air to Sea, importing directly to respective locations, full truck movement instead of partial load, use of low cost courier for normal shipments, use of Rail mode quite frequently and many more such intiatives. At the same time we hope to improve our services by strong process Improvements, efficient deliveries, perfect forecasting and IT infrastructure development.

He went on to mention that We have 12 Warehouses strategically located to meet the growing customer demand for Epson Products in India. Last year we also extended the IT infrastructure for all the Warehouses to have effective on line access.

Etsuo Fujita MD, Epson India was also present to thank those present for the wonderful overall performance of the team during the year gone by. Individual awards were announced including 4 outstanding performers working in Epson Warehouses being awarded a trip to Bangkok.

The meet also witnessed a very good response from the partners who appreciated Epsons e-logistics web based software, for all its partners and warehouses. This service was launched in April 2007 for between Warehouses and extended to the partners in September 2007. The meet concluded on the note that the competition is no longer just between companies and products but is now determined increasingly by the efficiency of the Supply Chain.
