Confederation of IT Associations (Confed) has come with a unique scheme, protecting the health of all its members.

Confederation of IT Associations (Confed) has come with a unique scheme, protecting the health of all its members. Under this scheme, the 660 members of Confed-ITA across 13 associations that includes Coimbatore, Erode, Dindigul, Vellore, Trichy, Madurai, Salem, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Tirupur, Kaniyakumari, Nilgiris and Puducherry, can insure their health under an accidental policy and cashless hospitalization. Till now, the federation insured 1732 people under this scheme.
The proposed insurance policy of Confed covers accidental death, loss of limbs, loss eyes, permanent partial disablement and permanent total disablement besides hospitalization due to any kind of accident (except Rail, Air and Sea). "Most of our members are traveling in two wheelers and there are all chances to meet with accidents. Our objective is to protect the health of our members and we are getting overwhelming response from them," told PN Prasad, President, Confed-ITA.

Till now, Rs 3.18 lakh has been collected from members. The policies will be renewed every year. Unlike other insurance policies, this is a general insurance. The Confed started this scheme in 15th December 2008. Group insurance facility is the peculiarity of this scheme.
