Green Wonders At Computex 2008

The exhibition was an excellent platform for both exhibitors and visitors for upgrading them with latest happenings and innovations in the field of IT.

By creating vibes among the IT fraternity, Taiwan Computex 2008, the second largest IT expo concluded on 7th June at Taipei. This five-day fair showcased the latest innovations in PCs, hardwares and latest gadget and gizmos that hold the future of the world’s IT market. The exhibition was enriched with 4,495 booths of 1,626 exhibitors..

Each and every one is concerned about deflating natural resources and the mounting environmental pollutions. The IT Industry is also trying to give a major contribution to environment. “Green IT” and “Power efficiency” with tech advancement was the main theme of this expo, which driven this fair for all the participants to promote their product as well as a message for a better environment. For the IT players, Computex is one of the world’s biggest platforms for unveiling their new products as well as to beat the heat they are facing from their closest rival by showcasing a better product with a low cost.

g edge technology to attract consumers worldwide. Computex appreciated the vendors by giving them awards for the best designs. Highly competitive 17 Taiwan-based IT manufacturers, including Acer, A-DATA, AnMo Electronics, AsusTek, Cooler Master, Mitac, Patriot Memory, Sonnenschein, SSI, Starline, VIA, and Thermaltake became the award winners.

During the fair, Intel unveiled Intel Atom Brand for new family of low-power processors, which will give new directions to the emerging low priced ultra portable notebook market. Based on Intel’s Atom Processor, Acer, the world's third largest PC vendor also launched its new Aspire one mini-laptop with in-built 802.11b/g WiFi, forecasting sales of up to seven million units this year and 15 – 20 million next year. Acer also announced the world's first 24-inches full high-definition (FHD) wide-screen LCD monitor with 1080p resolution.
