EMC AWARDED 2008 SSPA STAR AWARD

EMC Global Services Recognized for Outstanding Performance for Sixth Year.



EMC Corporation announced that it has received the Service Support Professionals Association (SSPA) 2008 STAR Award for Best Support Staff Practices. The prestigious peer-recognition STAR awards honor companies that demonstrate ongoing high-level commitment to delivering world-class results in service and support. EMC has won five previous STAR awards for mission-critical support and is one of a select group of companies inducted into the SSPA Hall of Fame.

"We are pleased to recognize EMC for mastering the core fundamentals that take service and support to the next level—from break-fix to breakthrough support,” said Stephen Smith, Executive Director, SSPA. “The outstanding service and support organizations of the STAR Award winners exemplify SSPA’s “Essential Elements of Support."

To win the STAR award, EMC demonstrated proven innovation in support staff practices with tangible business and customer benefits. The areas evaluated by the SSPA included staf

f development and training, talent retention, customer impacts and business impacts.
