Cyberstar Expands Adaptec's Product Offerings

Posted on October, Monday 08, 2007 By itVARnews Staff

Cyberstar Infocom has added Adaptec's new solutions in controller line up.

Cyberstar Infocom, one of the emerging distributors of IT peripherals, networking and components in India, Singapore, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, has added Adaptec's new solutions in controller line up. Cyberstar will start selling Adaptec's two-port external SATA solution for PCI express interface.

The latest addition to Adaptec's family of industry leading RAID controllers, the Adaptec 1225SA provides a wide range of superior features designed specifically for small office and home office (SOHO) networks relying on external direct attached storage (DAS) for professional workstations and entry servers. Talking about the new product, Raj Rathi, Founder & CEO, Cyberstar Infocom said, " We are always in the process of enhancing our product offerings to customers to satisfy their complete IT requirements."

The new Adaptec 1225SA RAID controller installs in any available PCIe slot, and offers two external SATA ports with speeds up to 3 gigabits per

second. The card is equipped with the intuitive Adaptec Storage Manager(TM) (ASM) software for ease of use and improved management, and offers RAID levels 0, 1, JBOD and eSATA hot-swap compatibility, enabling users to easily move drives or volumes from one system to another, delivering maximum flexibility and superior data protection.

Serial ATA (SATA) was designed as an internal interface technology, offering improved performance and new features for disk and tape drives inside the PC system. Now, the same performance and features are available for storage needs outside the PC, without relying on USB or 1394 connectivity, via eSATA technology. Emerging applications for eSATA external storage include new SATA features such as a port multiplier support, which allows a single host connection to access multiple disk drives, providing an easy method for adding terabytes of storage capacity to a host system with an external SATA connection. The Adaptec 1225SA allows this capacity t

o be shared by multiple users by partitioning into different configurations and leveraged to provide automatic backups of other devices on the network.

As a part of its marketing strategy, Cyberstar will conduct focused dealer and end customer training programs on advantages of implementing new two port External SATA solutions into their unified storage architectures. Special pricing schemes and dealer promotions have also been drawn as a part of this aggressive program. "We are very bullish on the prospects of Adaptec 1225SA that offers superior performance external storage connectivity and helps the consumers to enjoy the fastest transfer rates", Rathi further adds. The new Adaptec 1225SA RAID controller is available immediately through Cyberstar and its authorized reseller partners across 22 locations in India.
