Haldwani one of the biggest and developed business center of Uttarakhand is currently showing a high inclination towards IT industry. The city is now completely developed after the presence of corporates nearby the city.

Speaking to itVARnews, Proprietor, Wide Infosys Technology, G.S. Dhomi, said, "Here, the city is experiencing a tremendous growth in the IT industry. We are growing at a high growth of 50 percent. The main reason behind such a high development is the creation of separate state and due to which a separate budget has also been allotted by the government for the IT industry of the region."

Another reason for such acceleration is the setting up of 412 leading corporates like Bajaj, Parle, Tata Motors etc in Raipur and Kumaon, which is getting all the IT industrial help from Haldwani.

The demand of branded computers is growing in the region as compared to assembled computers. The laptop market is capturing market share because the city is f

acing a lot of electricity shortage. One of the main reasons for this phenomenon is the astoundingly reduced price and stylish look of notebooks.

"Presently, HP Compaq is among the most demanded brands in the region. It is due to the easy availability of HP products, its better service support to the customers and price projection in the market. We sell around 40-50 desktop computers and laptops in a month," said Director, Sun Infosys System, Prakash Bhakuri.

The demand of lifestyle products like mp3 and mp4 players, pen drives and wireless mouse are also growing, but not alarmingly as they are only popular amongst home segment and youth. Corporates and government sectors are the target segment for the dealers. Redington and Rashi Peripherals are few of the regional distributors here.
