Kanpur, the city that was formerly known as Manchester of the country, is also the biggest city and is also called as the commercial capital of the state. With such a name given to the region, the people in the commercial capital are definitely showing interest in the latest technology driven gadgets.

Speaking about the growth of IT industry in the region to itVARnews, Owner, Kay Cee Enterprises, Ashish Bakshi said, "The IT market of Kanpur region is experiencing a very good amount of growth rates, as with the changing times, people are feeling the urge to use the latest and innovative technology driven products."

The growth rate of the IT market of the region can be estimated to be more than 30 percent on annual basis. With a commendable growth rate, almost all the major brands have their say in the market.

Proprietor, Hi Tech Agencies, Kamal Vasandani stated, "Although, all the big IT players have a very good market share but brands like HP, Compaq and HCL are doing very well. People ask for HCL desktops and Compaq takes the lead in laptops."

Channel partners gave the view that with companies spending more and more on the advertisement of their newly introduced products, people have realized the need to use the latest technologies in their lives.

Elaborating more on this, Bakshi added, "Through the medium of advertisements in newspapers and televisions, people are becoming aware about the new inventions and thus, they always look for the same products. This is the reason for the growth of modernized and lifestyle products like laptops and pen drives in a city like Kanpur." The demand for laptops and desktops can now be considered in the ratio of 50:50.

As far as the growth of lifestyle products like pen drives, MP3 players is concerned, brands like Kingston, Quantum, Sony and Iball have major market share.
The market scenario revealed that the changing trends in the IT industry of the region have led to improvement in the service issues.

Commenting on the same, President, Kanpur Computer Dealer Association, Arun Bhargava explained, "The IT market of the region is developing and as a result, there are very few service problems. However, to make the industry free of any sort of service issues, we are planning to provide a service booklet to customers on their every purchase in the market."

These kinds of initiatives will definitely help in the overall growth of IT industry of the region.
