Kerala based Malabar IT Dealers Association observed a one day Dharna to prevent the government from giving away licenses to MNCs.

Kozhikode based Malabar IT Dealers Association (MITDA) is fighting aggressively for the dealers in the region and observed one day Dharna on Thursday. The Dharna was led by Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samit (Kerala Traders and Industrialists Organization).

The Dharna was organized to prevent the government from giving away licenses that allow multinational companies to enter the retail commodity market.

While discussing with itVARnews, President, Malabar IT Dealers Association, Vinod Kumar, said, "This Dharna was an important step towards the development of our dealers. It was organized to prevent the government from giving away licenses to the multinational companies, which are entering into the retail market and taking out the position of the local sellers and dealers. Due to this reason dealers are loosing their grip in the market."

From past many years dealers from different industries are suffering due to it and this march has given them a platfo

rm to stand together and raise their voice against it.

The association received an affirmative response from the authorities. As Kumar informed, "We have discussed our problems with the Calicut Mayor Bhaskaran and we have received a positive response from him. They have promised us that they will discuss this matter with the higher authority and bring some solution in favor of the local dealers and vendors."

In the coming span of time the association is planning to form a committee of few members, which will be separately handling such issues. After the success of Redington issue the association is aggressively working towards it.
