Malappuram Grows High With Assembled PCsPosted Tuesday, August 07, 2007 By Malabika SarkarThe upcountry region of Malappuram in Kerala is experiencing a demand of assembled computers more than the branded ones. Malappuram has few numbers of distributors. The corporate hold in the market is not so strong and therefore the dealers and distributors have to target the Home segment and the SME segment to earn annual turn over. Speaking to itVARnews, CEO, Matrix Infotech, Babu Zainudheen said, “Malappuram is experiencing a growth rate of 20-30 percent annually. The corporate segment is weak so we are targeting Home segment and SME segment. We are dealing in brands like LG, Epson, Intel and AMD. One of the major problems the region is we are facing the Payment issue. The IT market of Malappuram is witnessing a demand in assembled computers more than the branded ones. In life style products people go for mp3 and pen drives more than Laptops. On this, Proprietor, Associated Computers, Nisar Ali said, “In Malappuram the demand of desktops are high. Pen drives and Mp3 is also in great sale. We get more demand in assembled computers rather than branded. Talking about the marketing strategy, all the above dealers fondly agreed that they participate in regular road shows and events. As Intel has a strong existence in the market, the dealers are busy participating in the Intel road shows. Hence both the above dealers participate in road shows organized by Intel. On this, Director, Pace Systems, Mohammed Mustafa said, “Since there is less corporate in Malappuram, Intel is really doing well in the assembled market. We participate in the Intel road shows. However we have two branches in the region and enjoying an annual turn over of more than One crore. |
