Xerox India has announced its plan to offer new classroom based training for its channel partners here. The vendor is in the process of developing new training modules for resellers whereby they will be provided computer-based training in a classroom mode. The channel partners can also get additional training in soft skills through a training web portal. This portal would be accessible only to key/select partners who are keen on doing business with the vendor.
This new initiative has been launched to help the vendor push its MFDs and color printing across the markets. In fact the company has also set up a Xerox information Center in its head office in Gurgaon. This helps partners to communicate directly to the vendor with their queries or information needs. The personnel at the center are available to Xerox partners on telephone and are responsible for keeping them informed on Xerox's new initiatives via e-mails and telephone.
Said Natesh Mani, Executive Director, New O
ffice Group, Xerox India, “The priorities for the New Office Group in 2005 would be to drive adoption of multi-functional devices, execute 'Color Everywhere' strategy, grow the printer and A4 MFD business, strengthen 'two-tier' distribution model and create demand for the Xerox brand.”
To be able to do that, Xerox plans to give out product mailbags to its two-tier distributors who will also help to distribute Xerox products to targeted customers more efficiently, making it a vendor of choice. “We would also offer our partners a strong value proposition through re-bids, incentives and other beneficial schemes, which will be communicated to them through regular reseller meets,” said Mani.
As part of its endeavor to expand its presence in the newer markets, Xerox has launched six scanners and two projectors in the Indian market. These new products are part of the 'New Office Group' which includes printers, copiers, advanced multifunction systems, faxes and more.
