New Juniper Multi-Terabit T1600 raises the bar in performance, scale, and service control.
Juniper Networks, Inc., the leader in high-performance networking, announced the newest member of the T-series family, the T1600 core router. Capable of delivering an industry-leading 1.6 Tbps of throughput in a single half-rack chassis, the service-aware T1600 core router will ease the transition to next-generation networks and enable service providers to accelerate the deployment of the experience-based services that subscribers expect today with the agility and service control to address future requirements.
Building upon more than a decade of core routing innovation, the Juniper Networks T1600 will offer unparalleled scalability and service richness and will provide superior investment protection.
“As we accelerate the build-out of our 21st Century Next Generation Network and transition to an IP-based world where services are applications, we’re empowering end-users with control, choice and flexibility like never before, said BT Group Chief Technolog

Designed for multi-chassis deployments, the T1600 can scale to deliver up to 3.2 Tbps of throughput in a single standard 7-foot rack, more than twice the density of competitive platforms. As the industry’s most energy efficient router, the T1600 consumes 30 percent less power and requires 30 percent less cooling than competitive platforms, delivering operational excellence and helping to reduce total cost of ownership.
Juniper remains fully committed to continually investing in and enhancing the T-series to enable service providers to keep pace with escalating business requirements, while
