SAP Asia Pacific Japan announced the alignment of regional resources to drive continued sales momentum in the SME volume-based market.
Capitalizing on the unparalleled opportunities serving small and midsize enterprises (SME) together with its channel partners, SAP Asia Pacific Japan announced the alignment of regional resources to drive continued sales momentum in the SME volume-based market. The go-to-market (GTM) investments, including the appointment of Hub SME Leaders, GTM and Operations and Enablement Leads, will further accelerate SAP Asia Pacific’s already recognized SME leadership.
More than two-thirds of SAP Asia Pacific Japan’s 2,000 new customers in the first quarter of 2007 were SMEs, with that market segment now accounting for around 50 percent of software license revenue in the region. In 2006, SAP Asia Pacific announced its plans to more than triple its SME customer base by 2010. This rapid growth will extend SAP’s already recognized industry market share leadership.

Yesterday, during its annual Summit, SAP India also announced the major milestone of its 1,000 SME customer, Subhiksha, India’s largest and fast growing retail chain.
“The appointments and formation of the new SAP Asia Pacific Japan SME organization strengthens our growing programs to meet the evolving needs of small businesses and midsize companies, said SVP SME, SAP Asia Pacific Japan, Stephen Watts. “With these investments, we are positioned to triple our SME customer base by 2010 and, in the process, create even more outstanding opportunities for our valued partner community. SMEs in the region can look forward to a continually expanding solution portfolio and enhanced partner capabilities in 2007 and beyond.
