Posted on June, Monday 04, 2007 By Mukul Sarkar

The three-day long Compass Used and Discounted PC Show, 2007, was a major platform for pre-owned computers and laptops.

The annual Compass Used and Discounted PC Show 2007, a major event organized by the Computer Association of Eastern India kick started from 1st June and continued till 3rd June. Valia Hall of Bhawanipur College was the venue for the event.

The three-day long show was a major platform for pre-owned computers and laptops. Consumers who seek IT products, their parts, peripherals, books, CDs, accessories etc. at surprisingly low cost were benefited from this event. Moreover, the IT products that are not easily available in the market or have become obsolete were available in this unique show.

Commenting about the event to itVARnews, Chairman, Exhibition Committee, Pawan Jagodia added, “This show serves two objectives. It helps the channel partners to sell out their old products due to obsolescence and phase-offs, and also to help people own PCs at low unbeatable price range. Moreover it helps IT institutions to own IT products for practical demonstrations to their

students. For these reasons people come from distant regions to have a taste of the show.

Intex announced to launch a particular range of laptops which is priced below Rs. 20,000/-, and was available all three days of the fair.

Commenting on the show, President, COMPASS K.L Lalani added, “This fair is now eight years old. It provides a common platform where IT manufacturers, customers, channel partners, academicians and govt. agencies meet and interact with each other, thus benefiting the IT industry of the Eastern region. Through this fair we hope to reach every household. Moreover, it will help a large section of parents to buy computers at a low price for education of their children.

At this fair, computers were available from Rs. 4900 onwards, laptops from Rs.20000 onwards, printers from Rs.1000 onwards, non-working printers from Rs.300 onwards.
