Uttarakhand IT traders association organized an IT expo to create awareness among the people.

Uttarakhand based IT traders association organized an IT expo called IT Chetna 2007 in the valley. The event started from 24th May and ran till 26th May 2007 at 28, Convent road, Dehradun.

Minister of Health, Welfare Science & Technology, Uttarakhand, Ramesh Pukrial Nashant inaugurated the event in the evening of 24th.

Speaking to itVARnews on this occasion, President, Uttranchal IT Association, Surjeet Singh, said, "Over the last six years the fair has gained its volume in terms of participation and sales and this year it was organized in a bigger scale. It was one of the most important events for all the dealers in Uttarakhand and with the help of this we wanted to make Uttarakhand the fastest growing IT market of India. This kind of events will further help in boosting the market here as it will be a platform to showcase all the latest technology and the major brands."

All the major and eminent IT brands like Canon, Intel, HP, Intex, Lenovo, Acer, Epso

n etc participated in this event. The target segment comprised of end users, resellers and channel partners.

This fair had more than 30-40 stalls. The fair also conducted some interactive seminars and session for the channel partners and the consumers, focusing on educating and updating them about the latest advancements in the IT industry.

When asked about the aim of the event, Singh, said, "The main purpose of this event was to spread more and more awareness about the IT industry among the dealers and end users. All the participating vendors highlighted the products and services and provided the related information to the people, so that people of the Uttarakhand will also get the enhance knowledge about the IT industry."
