With the growing market for notebooks, Gujarat based dealer Cubit Computers is looking to tap the BTO notebooks market across the country. Starting its operations in the year 1991, Cubit has been a major Intel dealer in the region for the past 13 years. With Intel’s increasing focus on the BTO market, Cubit decided to join the BTO notebook fray in 2001. Since then the dealer has been pushing notebooks under its own brand name ‘Cubit’.
Speaking to itVAR News, Suresh Nair, Director, Cubit Computers said, “This year we plan expand our reach in the country with the opening of more offices wherein we will initially be looking at the Maharashtra region and Gujarat. In fact we have recently opened our office in Baroda and plan to open one in Surat.”
Besides Baroda, the company also has its office in Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Allahabad, Cochin and Mumbai while the head office is in Ahemdabad. The company has about 70-80 partners in its network currently and it intends to add more to this

number soon. “We will be aiming to have at least 5 in smaller city and about 10 in a bigger city like Chennai,” informed Nair.
In addition, this year the vendor’s plan is to bring in Sonoma based lightweight notebooks specifically 12’’ and 15.4” wherein it will be targeting the second time notebook buyers through the 12” notebooks and 15.4” notebooks will be positioned for the first time buyers. With its expansion plans put in place, Cubit is looking to double its revenue this year.
