Fujitsu and mCosm form strategic alliancePosted Tuesday, May 01, 2007 By itVARnews StaffFujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. and mCosm LLC announced a strategic partnership under which Fujitsu will resell the Touch&Go line of retail-ready interactive digital display systems to retailers throughout North America. The agreement includes the Touch&Go Pricechecker, a self-service price-checking unit; Touch&Go Paige, a shelf-mounted, all-in-one computer and display; Touch&Go Paigezilla all-in-one computer and display with embedded printer; and the large format Touch&Go Messenger with interactive liquid crystal displays (LCDs). “mCosm’s Touch&Go product line complements our existing self-service solutions, and provides a new component to our digital marketing offering,” said Chief Operating Officer at Fujitsu Transaction Solutions, Ed Soladay. “Retailers now have more options from our expanded hardware portfolio, and the large 32-inch and 45-inch Messenger displays, specifically, offer a new and unique channel for enhanced store information and customer interaction.” “Our partnerships with Fujitsu and Micro Industries, the manufacturer of our Touch&Go products, will help drive the next generation of direct-to-consumer marketing for retailers,” said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of mCosm, John Curran. “Our hardware offerings combine digital-signage and interactive technologies with solutions that are easily deployed and integrated in a retail environment.” mCosm’s Touch&Go Messenger products, available in portrait or landscape format, are “all-in-one” computers with a LCD/Touch screen, ranging in size from 32-in. to 45-in. These interactive systems allow retailers to engage customers with in-store promotions using dynamic digital signage and interactive self-service applications. They also provide the flexibility to use a variety of different digital media types like video and Flash.
