In the past two years, Government of Madhya Pradesh has made substantial efforts to put MP on the global IT Map through PHONO.EDU.COM – the biggest IT Expo in the state.

The biggest IT Expo in Madhya Pradesh, the ninth Phono.Edu.Com 2007 – an IT exhibition-cum-conference will be organized in Bhopal city from March 17-20 2007.

The IT exhibition to be organized by the Indus group in association with IASSCOM and Department of IT, MP State Government, will take place at Bittan Market Dussehra Maidan, Bhopal. The timings of the event will be from 4 pm to 10 pm.

The main sponsors of the event include 3i Infotech, Aegis Software, Maan group, Red Hat, BSEL and MP Online. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh will preside over the awards night on 18th and will give awards to media and other participants.

The main attraction of the expo includes Technical Quiz, Mega Job Fair and IT Fashion Show. Chairman of the committee, Vishwas Sarang said, “The primary aim of the event is to provide a platform for employment generation and thereafter to create a conducive atmosphere for investment possibilities in the IT sector i

n the state.”

President, IASSCOM, Swapnil Rai said, “Companies like HP, IBM, Lenovo, HCL, Wipro, Acer, Sony, Samsung, LG, L&T, Kirloskar, Escorts will participate in the job fair.” The organizers said apart from jobs in IT field for technical graduates, opportunities exist in other sectors for non-technical ones.

A mid-term IT Policy was announced during this exhibition cum conference in February 2006, wherein IT initiatives with respect to e-governance and development of IT skilled manpower were taken to attract mid and large size investments.
