The biggest computer fair in North Bengal and Sikkim, ‘Computer Fair’ began in Siliguri.

The biggest computer fair in North Bengal and Sikkim, ‘Computer Fair’ began today in Siliguri. Kaleidoscope India is organizing the event at Siliguri Stadium Mela Ground starting from February 15-18, 2007. The timings of the event will be from 11am to 9pm.

Speaking to itVARnews, Managing Personnel, Kaleidoscope India, Deepak Saha said, “This is the only destination where technology meets trade in North Bengal. This is the seventh time consecutively we are organizing this Computer Fair. The total number of stalls is 66 and around 45 partners are participating in it.”

The main co-sponsors of the event include HP, Techcom, Emerson and Intex among others. Minister of Urban Development, West Bengal, Shri Ashok Bhattacharya and Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Shri Vikas Ghosh inaugurated the fair.

Over the last six years the fair has gained its volume in terms of participation and sales. All the major companies of the IT trade participate in this fair a

nd the number of visitors also has increased considerably.

A footfall of around 40 thousand people is expected at the fair. The target segment comprises of end users, resellers and students from various educational institutions.

When asked about the aim to organize the event, Saha said, “The main aim to organize such an event is to spread more and more awareness on IT in the region. This is the best opportunity for companies dealing in computer hardware, software, internet service providers, computer peripherals, website developers, IT training institutes and office automation to showcase their product and services and garner some business.”

The fair is the most happening destination of the IT trade of North Bengal and Sikkim. Computer dealers from various regions including Malda, Raigunj, Balurghat, Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri, Islampur, Darjeeling, Kurseong, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Sikkim, Bhutan, Nepal and all other smaller places attend this fair for their trade re
