Logitech has announced its plans to introduce a line of extreme-performance peripherals made for the technologically demanding universe of PC gaming. Building upon the popularity of the recently introduced Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse, Logitech plans to design G-series products specifically for gamers who demand the best-of-the-best tools in their quest to win.
Talking about the latest product plans Ruben Mookerjee, director, product marketing, interactive entertainment, Logitech, said, “We are constantly interacting with hardcore gamers to define the performance specs they need and the features they want in their peripherals. The G-series products will perform expertly in the hyper-intense PC gaming environment, making gamers a millisecond faster, a half-pixel more precise, and ultimately more successful.”
The G-series family of products will reflect the continued interaction between Logitech, one of the leading PC peripherals vendors, and the PC gaming community.

This collaboration has helped Logitech identify key product features and define gaming-grade standards for G-series products that will provide new levels of pixel precision and blazing speed, while allowing gamers to administer performance tuning based on their individual preferences.
A technology renaissance in graphics chips and software has helped today´s best-selling PC games deliver unbelievably lifelike experiences. Meanwhile, online PC gaming has grown steadily in popularity due to the growth of broadband. Research firm Jupiter predicts that by 2006, there will be more than 20 million online action PC gamers in the U.S., up from 9 million in 2002. Logitech believes there is an untapped market for extreme-performance peripherals that can meet the technology demands of PC gamers and provide innovative features to enhance the gaming experience.
Logitech will unveil specifics about new G-series products this summer. A few examples of G-series features could include customizab

le interactive displays, programmable gaming keys, or buttons that give gamers the ability to instantly increase and decrease mouse resolution — such as those on the Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical mouse.
