The all new ground breaking XFX GeForce 8800 series

Posted on January, Monday 08, 2007 By News Desk

The new XFX GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS GPUs break the sound-barrier and redefine the phrase “Get Your Game On”.

XFX changes the face of gaming yet again with the release of the all-new GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS graphics processing units (GPUs). Offering unprecedented processing power and unparalleled levels of graphics realism and special effects, the only other “un” that comes to mind is “unbelievable”!

As VP-Regional Sales, XFX, Hong Kong, Sunny Narain said, “XFX, known by gamers worldwide for its mind-blowing, performance-crushing and competition-obliterating video cards and main boards—as well as its recent collaborations with No. 1 Gamer Fatal1ty—couldn’t be happier to add these two new outstanding GPUs to its already impressive list of gaming components”.

“So let’s cut to the chase: Just how fast are these new GPUs? Faster than a dual GeForce 7900 GTX running in SLI mode. Faster, even, than a single GeForce 7950 GX2 card. And, the GeForce 8800 GTX has a 24 pixel per clock ROP. The GTS? A 20 pixel per clock ROP”, Narain further added.

Based on the r

evolutionary new GeForce 8 graphics architecture, these powerful new GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS GPUs are the industry’s first DirectX 10 compatible GPUs and are the reference GPUs for the DirectX 10 development and certification.

Rocking the gaming world with a fully unified shader core that dynamically allocates processing power to geometry, vertex, physics, or pixel shading operations and unified stream processors that efficiently process geometry shader programs, while reducing dependence on the CPU for geometry processing, the GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS feature NVIDIA GigaThread technology that supports thousands of independent simultaneous threads for maximum GPU utilization. Shader Model(SM) 4.0 enables more complex operations on the GPU and reduces the load and CPU cycles.

Stream Out enables programmers to add more detail without having to re-render the entire pipeline and Geometry Shaders permit geometry creation and tessellation for smooth

curved surfaces and more lifelike character animation, including more realistic facial expressions and hair.

Occupying the space of two slots, each of these GPUs uses high-speed GDDR3 memory and are HDCP capable.

The new 8800 series graphic card is available through XFX national distributor Rashi Peripherals 47 branches and select Rashi partners all over India. The suggested end-user price (tax paid) is Model no. - PV-T80G-THF9 (8800GTS) - Rs.34000 and Model No. - PV-T80F-SHF9 (8800GTX) - Rs.42000. All XFX graphic cards carry 3 years Rashi warranty.
