Polycom ties up with Ingram Micro

In order to target a larger customer base in the country, Polycom has announced the appointment of Ingram Micro to promote voice and entry level video conferencing products.

Commenting on the association, Jean Francois Poulain, Managing Director, APAC, Polycom said, “Ingram Micro has a proven track record.We see this as an opportunity for
Polycom to grow and expand in the emerging markets. Ingram Micro has a good reach in the country and its expertise in sales, marketing and logistics will surely help us in tapping new segments".

Polycom has trebled its revenues from sales of video conferencing systems in the Indian market, since 2003. The overall video conferencing solutions industry has registered a 35% growth in 2004 in India.

Speaking on the video conferencing market, Yugal Sharma, Country Manager, Polycom, added, "The concept of video conferencing has crossed the initial threshold and India will now see the beginning of a new revolution where

e use is not restricted to multinationals and large enterprises only. Sectors like telemedicine, education, judiciary, government are realizing its potential and are already redefining the way people share information. The industry is clearly on a high growth chart".
