SMC Networks launches SMCBT-EDR in India

SMC Networks, provider of LAN hardware, broadband connectivity devices and SOHO and Home Wireless products, has announced the launch of SMCBT-EDR in India. SMCBT-EDR is the newest SMC Enhanced Data Rate Wireless Bluetooth USB Adapter.

The SMC Wireless Bluetooth USB Adapter supports Class 1 Bluetooth and has an operating range of up to 300 feet. In addition to less interference, users can enjoy features such as Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) to increase the reliability of data transfer. The SMCBT-EDR's Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) improves wider use of Bluetooth thus allowing communication of rich media (Audio, Video, large Graphics such as Digital photographs) applications with faster transfer and sharing experience.

Users can set-up a personal area network (PAN) that connects up to seven Bluetooth-equipped devices. Wireless communication between devices such as Wireless Phones or PDAs to share files, transfer Data, print and synchronize PDA information is easily esta

blished. In addition users can browse the web, send and receive emails, and use a Mobile Phone to access the Internet wirelessly. To ensure security, the SMCBT-EDR offers encryption and authentication to ensure security of the Data exchanged.

With many recent products integrating Bluetooth functionality, the SMC Wireless Bluetooth USB Adapter is targeted towards SMB, Enterprise and SOHO segments.

The EZ Installation Wizard performs the installation automatically. A user has to put the EZ Installation Wizard CD into CD drive, and click on the install Driver/Utility Link. Then after plugging in SMCBT-EDR into the USB slot of laptop or PC one can use Wireless Bluetooth Networking.
