Sterlite Optical Technologies launches DOF Lite (Metro), Bend Lite OF, Hybrid Cable with Power Cable; Micro Duct Lite Cable, Combo Cable and Super LAN-Cat 5e drop cable.

Sterlite Optical Technologies gave added push to its Sterlite Optical FTTH (Fiber-to-the-home) concept. In a move to encourage faster adoption of optical fiber, the company launched 6 new products. These include DOF Lite (Metro), Bend Lite OF, Hybrid Cable with Power Cable; Micro Duct Lite Cable, Combo Cable and Super LAN-Cat 5e drop cable.

As Director & CEO, Sterlite Optical Technologies, Dr Anand Agarwal said, “Rapid broadband adoption across India is critical to sustain the economic momentum that India has seen in the last few years. We are attempting to offer innovative products to suit different needs to encourage the use of optical fiber in the last few miles of connectivity. This is largely in response to the enthusiastic response we have received from builders & real estate buyers at property exhibitions across India."

The DOF LITE (Metro) is "S" band compatible. It is fully compatible with the existing NZDSF fiber network that can provide the longest uncompensa

ted reach in a metropolitan area network. It efficiently supports the CWDM transmission system with 320 channels in S, C & L bands at 10 GB per second.

The Bend Lite OF is well suited in the last segment of FTTH deployment and is an ideal choice for triple play (data, voice & video). It is fully compatible with standard SMF ITU T G652 A, B, C, D fiber it is capable of low bend radius, tighter routing and high fiber density. This ensures a very high resistance to macro bending loss on C&L band.

Hybrid cable with power cable consists of both optical fiber as well as copper wires. These are ideally suited for last mile connectivity as it affordably offers the delivery of power & telecommunications through the same cable. The cable is capable of providing an always-on link.

MICRO Duct Lite CABLE is a lightweight, low diameter & flexible cable. This makes the blowing of cable through the pre-lubricated ducts easy. The cable has excellent optical, mechanical and envir

onmental characteristics. It has a specially developed low shrinkage high-density polyethylene sheath with normal thickness of 0.5mm. The cable can accommodate a fiber count of up to 72F (or 96F or higher). It also has a unique type of loose tube material-polybutylene terephthalate with low shrinkage characteristics.

Combo Cable- an RG59 with CAT 5e and Duplex Fiber Cable is a unique cable with featured of copper & fiber transmission. It is a complete solution to deliver broadband applications ADSL, FTTH & IPTV. Being fire retardant, lightweight, flexible and easy to install, it is suitable for indoor applications. It is extremely good for data & voice transmission up to 100 Mhz.

Super LAN Cat 5E Drop Cables are self supported LAN cable suitable for outdoor application. These support transmissions at 1,000MBPS / 1000 Base-T Ethernets and operates at a frequency of up to 100 Mhz. Withstanding 1000 N Tensile load, it excess requirements as prescribed by International Stan

dards TIA/EIA-568B.2 and ISO 11801.
