Genius carves retail strategy

Adhering to its aggressive plans for the Indian market, Taiwan based Genius is soon going to open number of retail outlets.

For the financial year 2006, Genius, the Taiwan based wireless input devices manufacturer, has chalked out a retail strategy for the Indian market. Following this, the company is going to open 40 retail stores in the country. All these outlets will come-up in association with retail partners.

Speaking on its retail plans, Country Manager (India), Genius, Sandeep Ramani said, “In our financial quarter two which starts from April, we will come up with 20 retail outlets. These stores will be unveiled in all the four metro cities of India. Later on, we will target non-metro cities like Chandigarh, Cochin and Pune.”

Adhering to its aggressive plans for the Indian market, Genius will organize 18 road shows in financial quarter two and three. Some of the cities that will be covered in these road shows are Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kanpur and Chandigarh.

The manufacturer is eyeing to generate revenue worth 3.5 million USD from the Indian market. Genius is

targeting market share of 10-15 percent in the C.E and peripheral market.

On the question of some OEM partnerships in the pipeline, Ramani said, “Very shortly we are going to partner with some OEMs. Right now, I can just say that they will be among top three OEMs in the country.”

Genius has also launched waterproof anti-bacteria Multimedia Keyboard, Genius Slimstar 310. Apart from making a keyboard stain-free, SlimStar 310 has 14 one-touch hotkeys for media center control, internet exploration freedom, office functions and instant messaging using MSN.
