HUAWEI Bags Best Practice Award –Leadership from Frost & Sullivan

Global market research firm, Frost & Sullivan has presented its most coveted Best Practice Award –Leadership in Telepresence Market of the year to HUAWEI, in recognition of the company’s remarkable efforts toward the development of the Telepresence Services.

In 2010, the market size of Telepresence in Asia Pacific reached $35 million. It had a substantial growth combined with the number of $32 million in 2009 and $26 million in 2008. Besides, considering about the sales volume, the number of 2010 reached 258 units, increasing highly than 209 units of 2009 and 161 units of 2008. The market is forecast to reach from $35 million by 2010 to $93 million by 2017, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 percent. As an emerging market, the Asia Pacific is increasing the power and contribution in the global economy.

The revenue contribution of Asia Pacific to global TP market is forecast to reach from 15 percent by 2008 to 22.7 percent by 2015, surely, it will be the new growth area of TP market. Just like the global TP market, the Asia Pacific was dominated by Cisco, Polycom, HP and Teliris in the past, this changed in 2009 as Huawei introduced the Telepresence solutions to market. This excellent product helped Huawei seize the Asia Pacific TP market share, especially in China.

 Huawei has managed to increase the sales of its Telepresence product in the recent past. By 2010, the Huawei’s market share had reached 18.7%, an increase of 18.4% compared with the previous year, this helped Huawei become the market leader in Asia Pacific telepresence sector. Next year, the sales is expected to grow at an event higher rate, with expected sales volume exceed 500 units. Despite being a new entry in TP market, Huawei performances well at technology and market aspects. Furthermore, in 2010, Huawei`s TP business gained access to the China telecom area, collaborating with China Telecom and Phoenix Television, Huawei made an integrating smart media platform relying on China Telecom`s “MONET” and Huawei`s “Telepresence”.
