Posted on December, Friday 23, 2011 By itVAR News Network

In today’s challenging scenario when enterprise set of customers are looking at one stop solution to a number of their issues related with IT infrastructure.

The economic resource planning or ERP is coming as a fresh breeze of air for them.  The business applications, functions and applications referred to collectively as enterprise resource planning or ERP are some of the most business critical in their existence.

It is true that optimized resource planning helps in terms of maximizing business agility and revenues for an enterprise. However, on the other hand, once the IT managers have surveyed the ERP market place and assessed various priorities associated with their business’ specific needs for ERP solutions, they are likely to face this challenge of finding one stop solution to their IT related issues and concerns. In the end the primary objective of any enterprise is to increase their business agility and maximize their value for money after deploying such ERP systems.

If we classify the set of ERP buyers, basic ERP buyers are typically smaller companies (50 to 250 employees) in search of simple solutions that support core features such as accounting, CRM, finance, HR, payroll management and basic resource planning.

Basic Buyers tend to have limited IT resources and expertise and often do not require support for comprehensive manufacturing operations. Most often IT solutions appropriate for Basic Buyers must interoperate with incumbent CRM and HR solutions and other functions that affect or are affected by ERP activities.

Other buyers are those in search of relatively more complex solutions with richer and deeper feature sets. Other set of buyers are typically found at companies with approximately 250 to 1,000 employees. Such users tend to seek the features desired by Basic Buyers, plus additional functionality such as support for compliance or performance management or Web-based electronic storefronts.

These set of buyers tend to have some IT resources and expertise and may have experience with ERP solutions as well. Most importantly, solutions for other set of big buyers must support inclusive or optional integration with more business applications than the basic buyer ERP solutions, such as those for sales and marketing automation and inventory management. It is for sure that moving forward, ERP solutions are set to deliver better and greater business agility for an enterprise and take them another shot closer to glory and better profitability.
