LINE Download Exceed Seven Million Download

Posted on November, Wednesday 30, 2011 By itVAR News Network

NAVER Japan Corporation has announced that the total number of downloads for 'LINE' for both iPhone and Android has exceeded seven million as of November 27, 2011, five months after the launch.

LINE is a Smartphone application in which its users can make voice calls or send/receive messages with each other no matter whether they are inside or outside their country or what carrier they use.

Since LINE was launched on June, 2011, it has been used in not only in Japan but also in 108 countries worldwide, especially in Middle East and Southeast Asia, and achieved a total number of five million downloads as of November 8, 2001, four and a half month after the launch.

Since then, the number of LINE users has been steadily increasing, especially in Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan; and as its result, LINE has marked a total number (in both domestic and overseas) of two million downloads in twenty days and seven million downloads recently.

"NAVER Japan will further improve the user-friendliness of its service and bring ten million downloads within the year into our view as the world-leading, global mobile messenger used in 108 countries worldwide,” said a company statement.
