Solution Partners Converge at Bangalore ITPV Partner Leadership Awards 2011

Techplus Media concluded successfully the ITPV Partner Leadership Awards 2011 on 25th November in Bangalore amidst the presence of more than 150 partners from across Karnataka and many leading veterans from the IT industry. Organised for the first time in the city, the objective behind this event was to honour the vibrant channel community, the leading as well as the emerging solution providers of the region, to recognize their leadership abilities and to listen to some of the most prominent personalities of the IT industry.

The Chief Guest for the evening was Mr. M N Vidyashankar – Principal Secretary, e-Governance, IT, BT and S&T Dept., Govt. of Karnataka. The ceremonial lamp lighting by eminent dignitaries like Mr. Vidyashankar, Mr. Anoop Nambiar, Country Manager-BPO, India & South Region, IBM; Ms Geetha K, Sales Director, Belkin; Mr. Raj Rathi, MD, Cyberstar; Mr. Gopalakrishnan P K, CEO, WeP Peripherals; Mr. R Sridhar – President, AIT; Mr. Anuj Singhal-MD Techplus Media and Ms Kalpana Singhal, Editor-in-Chief, Techplus Media marked the beginning of the award event. 

The event kick-started with some encouraging words from the man who has been the driving force behind the Techplus Media project, Mr. Anuj Singhal. Talking on the occasion, he shared, “Whether it is the deployment of cloud based solutions or software as a service, Indian enterprise and SME segment is surely leading the way towards adopting cutting edge IT solutions and thereby helping the IT industry move ahead and on the right track. Experts in the industry agree with us when we say that this decade surely belongs to the Asian region as a whole and solution providers or systems integrators are playing a major role in terms of taking the solutions to the end customers and helping the vendor community realize the full potential of IT.”

Appreciating the initiative taken by Techplus Media, the Chief Guest for the evening, Mr. Vidyashankar shared his insight on the present IT scenario of the state and how the state is slowly opening to biotechnology, nanotechnology and animation. He also took special mention of the various policies that have been announced to spearhead the growth of IT in Karnataka.  

Ms. Kalpana Singhal, Editor-in-Chief, Techplus Media on her part extolled the courage and out of the box thinking of the solution provider community of the region. In her speech, she said that whether, it is cloud computing, storage, security or providing data centre solutions, everything boils down to the ability of solution providers in terms of executing the critical projects.

There were altogether 38 categories of awards that were presented in 3 phases during the event. In addition, there were AV and corporate presentations from the event sponsors. The sponsors for the event were Digisol, Digilite, Canon, Dell, LG, Netgenie, Mercury, Shyam Networks, Matrix Technologies, Par Data, Eurotech Technologies and Uniline. The event was supported by Association for Information Technologies (AIT).

The awards also took this opportunity to honour around 30 partners from the state by presenting them the Certificate of Recognition for over 20 years of their outstanding contribution in IT.

On this occasion, Techplus Media felicitated one of the oldest veterans in the IT community of Bangalore for the Lifetime Achievement Award category – Mr. Ram Agarwal of WeP Peripherals. The CEO of the company Mr. Gopalakrishnan P K was there at the event to receive the award on Mr. Agarwal’s behalf. The Special Award for the ITPV Business Leader 2011 went to Mr. Sampath Kumar H R, CEO, Valuepoint Systems who thanked ITPV for this endeavour.

 

The award event concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Kalpana Singhal and the photo session of all the winners. 

Keeping the IT channel community in mind, Tech Plus Media has for the first time taken the initiative of organising the Multicity event, the ITPV Partner Leadership Awards 2011, spanning across cities like Indore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Guwahati. The regional awards have succeeded in garnering an overwhelming response. Expressing his views on this multi-city initiative, Mr. Anoop Nambiar, Country Manager-BPO, India & South Region, IBM said that it is extremely important to recognise the partner community from smaller towns and cities as it is they who would be responsible for spearheading the IT growth that the Indian IT landscape is foreseeing in the next couple of years.

   

Mr. Gopalakrishnan, CEO, WeP Peripherals on his part remarked that ITPV had taken a great initiative of organising an event of such grandeur as it provided a common platform for partners to come and exchange thoughts. He also said that this kind of an event can be organised twice a year to attract more partners. In the views of Mr. Sampath Kumar, CEO, Valuepoint Systems, since this kind of partner meets are very rare, the event provided a meeting ground for different partners to come and discuss issues. He also appreciated the efforts that went into organising the show. Ms Geetha K, Sales Director, Belkin congratulated Techplus Media for having organised this partner event and motivating them by means of the awards. Mr Raj Rathi, MD, Cyberstar said that the initiative taken by Techplus Media was very innovative and the same efforts should be continued to be able to build a synergy with the partners from the South. Mr. Nand Kumar of Ingram Micro said that it was a very unique concept of getting the partners honoured and was very well conducted as it tried to ensure that every segment of IT business was represented. Mr. Prabhakar Kini of Acropetal Technologies was full of praises for the awards and appreciated that it was very nicely organized and synchronized really well with the theme of the event.
