cutting-edge hardware and software solutions.

"Empowering Technology" streamlines access to frequently used functions and settings, making the user more productive and enhancing their computing experience. With just the click of a button, the Empowering Key launches an intuitive three-step process that makes it simpler than ever to complete common tasks and change configurations.


Each product category offers specific functions tailored to increase performance and functionality of the product. In the notebook and desktop space the Empowering Technology suite can be accessed by pressing the Empowering Key, located above the keyboard. It can also be accessed by double-clicking the Empowering Technology "e logo" icon on the Windows (superscript: ®) desktop.


Some of functions available in notebooks are Acer eDataSecurity Management, which protects files from being accessed by unauthorized persons using advanced encryption algorithm and Acer eLock Management, which allows users to protect their data from being stolen by locking the USB Ports, optical drives and floppy drives with a password. The Acer ePerformance Management
is a system optimization tool that boosts the performance of Acer systems, optimizes memory, enhances the hard disk drive performance and boosts
network performance.


Acer eRecovery Management easily and reliably manages backups, as well as restores factory default settings in the event of Operating system crash and malicious virus attacks. It also allows the user to backup and restore
his personal data. Acer eSettings Management makes changing settings and configurations easy and convenient. It consists of three system settings:
Security, Boot Options and System Information. ESettings Management sets and modifies passwords to ensure maximum privacy and acts as a one-stop hub to view detailed system information of your PC.


Acer eNet Management is an excellent tool for frequent business travelers designed to keep users online and connected when switching locations or entering a new wireless or network environment through the use of
intelligent profile management. It also acts as a diagnostic advisor for connectivity issues. Acer ePower Management allows users to choose from the most appropriate power management settings and can provide up to 20 percent more battery life over standard Microsoft Windows profiles. Acer ePresentation Management makes connecting your notebook and projector an easy one-step process, allowing users to select from two of the most common projector resolutions.


In the commercial desktop category, in addition to the Empowering Technologies outlined in the notebooks section (with the exception of eNet, ePower, & ePresentation, which are notebook specific), the commercial desktops have an additional utility called Acer eAcoustics Management; which allows users to enjoy a quieter system, with performance scaled to
their individual needs.


Empowering Technology brings the latest multimedia technologies to the Acer Home PCs series allowing users to enjoy comprehensive digital multimedia effects with convenience. Acer eMode Management is a comprehensive
multimedia utility that has been developed to bring digital entertainment to the home and heighten users' enjoyment. It integrates TV, video, music, pictures, FM, and Internet radio content: all easily accessed using a
convenient remote control device.


Empowering Technology also makes using Acer projectors simple and efficient with Acer eView Management, a practical utility that allows users to create and save display profiles based on their viewing preferences for
different types of media and scenarios. Acer eOpening Management enables easy customization of the projector's startup and standby screen. Acer eTimer Management keeps users on the clock with a customizable OSD timer
allowing users to set a countdown that notifies them when their presentation time is up.
