Mobiwhiz to bet on IT to grab opportunities in Mobile app market

Posted on July, Friday 01, 2011 By itVAR News Network

Market Research shows that Mobile application learning has become part of mainstream education, driven by consumer demand, new technologies and services. Enterprises will significantly increase their investments in mobile applications during 2010 to 2015.

It gives out a huge opportunity for all code lovers, but many are not skilled enough to grab the demand.  Hence, going by the words of Edmund Hillary, who once said, “It’s not mountains we conquer but ourselves”, Barani Kumar S kick-started Mobiwhiz to train and give the industry those mobile app whiz kids. ITPV caught up with Barani to understand Mobiwhiz’s focus and its IT plans.
Q) Tell us about Mobiwhiz
Mobiwhiz strives to push the edges of mobile technology innovations by ensuring well-trained professionals and mobile wizards. We aim to reach par excellence in Mobile Application raining and development and become the pioneers in training every latest technology associated with Mobile Application. And in the process, we join hands to help each student conquer and reach the peak. We aim to ensure our students become not just technically skilled but also improve their soft skills and behavioral skills thus delivering a complete package. Our core focus in training is Mobile Application development and testing.

Q) How important is information technology for your organisation?
IT requirements are part of any Software company, we can’t differentiate IT as a different entity, in fact without which we can’t deliver what we want
Q) What kind of IT requirement do you have on an annual basis?

We have our Linux based server for Managing our Contents and Tools and we also maintain a Server for our Products. At Mobiwhiz, we majorly develop client-server based Android Applications, for example, we  have a Streaming server which can handle huge contents and also supports Live streamingWe don’t have any Budget allocated yet as we are in the process of identifying various needs for our organization since we are a start-up.

Q) How many people do you have working at your IT department?

Currently, our IT needs are monitored by a single person, but soon we would increase the number to five. As and when our IT requirements will escalate we would be adding people to handle the same.
Q) Have you ever thought about outsourcing your IT needs to a third party service provider?
Currently, we have no such plans. As a startup, we have to allocate our budgets very cautiously.
Q) Moving forward, how do you look at the IT sphere within your organization?

We majorly need more Server handling and also Cloud based setups , I strongly feel our IT team has to equip themselves to Handle cloud based implementations for the company as well for the Project deliverables , so that to reduce the cost appropriately.
