ASUS launches centrino duo notebooks

ASUSTek Computer, Inc. (Asus) recently announced a five notebook series based on the Intel Centrino Duo technology. The W2J, A7J, W5F, A6J and V6J notebook series provide increased performance for multitasking with longer battery supply and better power management.

The company, which has recently forayed into the Indian notebook market, plans to launch three models in the India market in the month of February 2006 - W5F, A6J and V6J.

The compact W5F features built-in 1.3 mega-pixel 180" swivel webcam, microphone and LifeFrame software. The W5F is a winner of the 2006 International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award.

The portable audio/video communication feature allows the user to enjoy true wireless freedom with the W5F and A6J notebook series. Built-in microphone and webcam allow users to videoconference without the hassle of external connections.


The ultra slim 15-inch V6J is lighter than most of the existing 14-inch notebooks and i

s characterised by a refined and elegant design. The V6J is a winner of Japan's G-Mark, Germany's RedDot and iF design awards.

The W5F series features Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection, Microsoft Windows XP Home/Professional, 12.1" WXGA Color Shine & Crystal Shine LCD, DDR2 533/667 MHz, up to 1536 MB.

The A6J series features Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection, Microsoft Windows XP Home/Professional, 15.1" XGA/SXGA, 15.4" XGA Color Shine LCD, DDRII 533/ 667MHz, up to 1GB.

The V6J series features Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset, Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection, Microsoft Windows XP Home/Professional, 15" XGA/SXGA+ ZBD LCD, DDR2 533/667MHz, up to 1GB.
