Honeywell Chalks Out Strategy to Target Indian Market

Honeywell is looking to expand its scanning and mobility business (HSM) in the Indian market.

Honeywell is looking to expand its scanning and mobility business (HSM) in the Indian market. Globally, the company is generating its 57% revenue from scanner business, 13% from scan engines, 23% from mobile computers where as 7% from software and security.

Honeywell is focusing on retail, transportation and logistics, healthcare, manufacturing, and government segments to give a boost to HSM business in India.

As a part of its go-to-market strategy, Honeywell will be expanding partner strength in next 3-4 months. For its scanning products, the company is following traditional distribution model and for mobility business it is identifying key partners in ISVs. We are looking at skill sets and commitment from partners, said Shailesh Deshmukh, Country Sales Manager, SAARC, Honeywell Scanning and Mobility.

The company is looking for 4-5 ISV partners to reach to the customers. It is also looking to bring its lower price mobile computing solutions

with wide variety of applications.

Honeywell is in a pursuit to expand geographical reach by appointing resellers for scanner business. We want our scanner product to be available everywhere, added Deshmukh.

The company is equipping partners for offering service support. Currently, it has repair center in Bangalore. On partners training and profitability, Deshmukh commented, We are offering training to partners in order to educate them about our solutions. We have organized three-city events in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai. We will be coming out with more events to reach to our consumers. For partners profitability we are offering them good products and lead generation activities.

HSM has barcode scanners and handheld computers with RFID applications in their product offerings.
