Fujitsu announced that it has assumed operations of a SaaS online delivery site from the Japan Research Institute of New Systems of Society. The SaaS online delivery site, known as J-SaaS, is a web services platform built by Japan\'s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry during FY2008 and FY2009, in its project to improve the SaaS application infrastructure for small- and medium-sized businesses.
Fujitsu plans to position the online delivery site, known as J-SaaS, as a part of its cloud computing business, and will work together with various application vendors to promote the use of information and communication technologies through the utilization of cloud computing by small- and medium-sized businesses.
As part of this transition, Fujitsu will continue to deliver services to J-SaaS\'s current small- and medium-sized business customers while offering user-friendly services to new customers that are considering employing SaaS.
Using the co
ncept behind J-SaaS of supporting small- and medium-sized start-up companies as a base, Fujitsu will expand upon the approximately 50 SaaS applications in areas such as financial accounting, payroll calculation, and tax filing, as well as related services offerings.
