IBM to Consolidate Century Plyboard’s Disaster Recovery Centre

Century Plyboards (I) Limited has selected IBM’s P6-550 server, DS 5020 storage and virtualization technology to consolidate its Disaster Recovery Centre (DR).

Century Plyboards (I) Limited has selected IBMs P6-550 server, DS 5020 storage and virtualization technology to consolidate its Disaster Recovery Centre (DR).

Century Plyboards was an existing user of IBMs P5550 server, IBMs DS-4700 storage as a backbone for their ERP infrastructure. Century ply implemented SAP and post go-live they were looking for a redundancy-proof datacenter which can be used to consolidate its disaster recovery centre along with the primary site of Star Cement group. The Disaster Recovery (DR) site will be used by Century ply and also will be used as a primary site for Star cement group as a single consolidated infrastructure. The implementation will help them save cost and get a return on investment (ROI) of 35%-40% annually both in terms of with overall Opex and Capex. IBM secured the deal after demonstrating the value proposition on ROI, clear strategy, risk management capabilities and technical capabilities.
