Utilize Internet for Maximizing Productivity

Vendors are now supporting partners online through virtual classes, webinars, video conferencing and through partner centric portals. Such online engagements cut down on the need of face to face interactions, reducing cost and time usage.

The importance of the web world is not just confined to end users but in today times offer host of opportunities to even the channel partners. With the ever growing competition in the IT market, most of the channel partners are mobile engaged in business trips. Thus in such a scenario, it becomes imperative that partners utilize various internet technologies for expanding presence in the market.

Realizing the importance, even the vendors have now started supporting partners online through virtual classes, webinars, video conferencing and through partner centric portals. Such online engagements cut down on the need of face to face interactions, reducing cost and time usage.

Now, the important question arise which connectivity should one go for on a long run. Sometimes some connectivity options are not pocket friendly, sometimes they are not speedy and sometimes a network creates problems. So realizing your dilemma while choosing for a conn

Following are some of the options available:

USB Modem (Dongles): A traditional connectivity model after data card which almost every executive uses. The USB drive to plug and play in the system is being offered by almost every telecom player. Some of these vendors include Reliance Netconnect, Tata Photon Plus, Vodafone, Idea, virgin Vflash, MTS, MTNL and BSNL. The USB Internet connects are available between Rs 2200 to 2500. Data plans and speed varies on different networks. Tariffs may be a bit high but offer completes mobility and high speed. However they are service provider dependent. One has to buy new dongle to change the service provider.

Some alternatives to Dongles

3G for mobile Phones: The 3G auction is in progress and is expected to be completed in the near future. Soon c

onsumers will have an option of using 3 G in their existing service provider network. Currently, state owned MTNL is offering 3G with unlimited data plan for Rs 2500, which may be on a higher side. However, with more players expected to enter the domain, prices are likely to fall. 3G mobiles can also be connected with PCs to connect to the internet. BSNL also has some good offerings for 3G.

3G for laptops: With the introduction of 3G, Now netbooks and laptops are coming with inbuilt 3G SIM slot to offer 3G connectivity. If your device does not have a 3G slot you can take the advantage of 3G services with some of the offerings like Micromax USB modems. Micromax modems offer connectivity with 3G and 2G with a good speed. You can change your service provider as per your requirements. To access to the internet you don\\\\\\\'t need to engage you phone all the time just buy any SIM 2G or 3G and stay connected.

uter as well. With SIM insertion, 3G router offers connectivity wirelessly to multiple users but in limited range.

Wireless broadband: Imagine wherever you go you can access Internet through your PC and mobile without a need of any external device. Now this is coming out of imagination. Yes this will be possible in near future through WiFi though the service is available currently but for a limited area. This service has been introduced by Tikona Digital Services in some metros. Tikona is offering its consumer to access Internet anywhere in the city through unique login and password where Tikona\\\\\\\'s network is available. As soon as customer base grows Tikona will keep adding more and more location in the list to offer borderless connectivity. The price point for the service is equivalent to wired broadband plans, depending on Speed and downloading. Reportedly, there are few more ISPs planning to roll out this service.

Wired broadband:

Strange but true a wired broadband can also offer you mobility to some extent by installing wireless routers or switch in a premises. Internet service providers and other networking companies are offering entry level wireless routers at a price point that starts from Rs. 500 and exceeds Rs.1500. The prices also vary with additional features, range of the router. Belkin, Netgear, Rukus, D-Link, Cisco are some of the players in wireless router category. The data plans depend on limited and unlimited usage, plans and services one is seeking. The reach of this service is still limited to metros and B class cities.
