STMicroelectronics, the supplier of MEMS for consumer and portable applications, has introduced high-performance 3-axis digital-output gyroscope. With this introduction, the company widened its motion-sensor portfolio.

STMicroelectronics, the supplier of MEMS for consumer and portable applications, has introduced high-performance 3-axis digital-output gyroscope. With this introduction, the company widened its motion-sensor portfolio. This product embeds a FIFO (first-in first-out) memory block for better power management.

The L3G4200DH gyroscope is the latest MEMS portfolio of ST. It combines an on-chip FIFO memory block that stores up to 96 levels, split in 32 sample sets of x-, y-, and z- axis data. The peculiarity of this feature is that it allows to get rid off continuous communication of the angular rate data between the sensor and the host processor. During this time, it will be in sleep mode so the overall power consumption decreases drastically.

The manufacturing process technology used in L3G4200DH 3 - axis digital gyroscope and more than 700 million motion sensors is same. This technology of ST is successful one, which can be measured from the number o

f sale of the product. ST in introducing state-of-the-art product which is coming with a combination of the capability to manage the whole supply chain, leveraging large-scale production capacity at the Companys dedicated 8-inch MEMS fab.
