Dell Innuendo Price Fixing in LCDPosted Thursday, March 18, 2010 By ITVARNews NetworkDell has sued against five vendors for price fixing. On Friday, they filed lawsuit in the US District Court against Epson, Hitachi, Sharp, Toshiba and HannStar for price fixing and seek to recover money collected for LCD panels that were purchased at artificially inflated prices. This is not the first time the issue of price fixing among LCD vendors came in front. Once again, the name of LG and sharp came into this kind of unlawful activity. U S Justice Department in 2008 has ended in Sharp, LG, and Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd proving guilty to price fixing of LCD displays. The fine of US $ 585 million, with LG paying US $ 400 million, Sharp US $ 120 million, and Chunghwa US $ 65 million were imposed. After this, Sharp released the statement that they will thoroughly implement measures to prevent the recurrence of the issue of such kind but if Dell will be proved right, then the company has again let the same issue happened. These vendors have been working together to inflate the price of products as per Dell\'s allegations. Dell had been buying from them since 1996. As a result, Dell\'s business interest has suffered to a considerable extent. Last time, the investigation was started in 1996 and ended up with decision in 2008. Let\'s wait and see how soon it will take to prove either of them wrong. Comment & Contribute
