A Union for Mental Peace in Cyber Space

F5 Networks and Infoblox entered in a partnership agreement...

Now, a complete internet security has become a reality with the union of two companies. F5 Networks, Inc, the provider of Application Delivery Networking (ADN) and Infoblox, the provider of DNS, DHCP and IPAM (DDI) solutions entered in a partnership agreement to develop a solution to simplify and speed deployment of the Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC). As a result of this partnership, the customers can sit peacefully, because they will be protected from DNS attacks completely.

The solution, provided by F5 and Infoblox together, will be markets only fully integrated and complete DNSSEC solution. High-performance DNS and global server load balancing functions, all supporting signed DNSSEC data are the peculiarities of this solution. With this, customers will be able to scale, manage, and secure DNS infrastructure that is equipped to withstand DNS attacks.

Jason Needham, Senior Director of Product Management at F5, said, This joint solution changes th

e game for DNS infrastructure deployments by advancing the security and integrity of both government and enterprise sites. F5 welcomes this alliance with Infoblox. By combining two mission-critical DNS control points, the leaders in ADN and the DDI space allow customers to reap the benefits of agile deployment architecture with layered security and simplified management.

The combination of F5s and Infobloxs appliances provide enterprise customers an opportunity to build authoritative DNS infrastructure without giving up either global server load balancing or DNSSECa no-compromise solution, said Cricket Liu, Infoblox Vice President of Architecture and DNS expert.

According to Security researcher Dan Kaminsky, Director of Penetration Testing at IOActive, The lack of DNS security not only makes the Internet vulnerable, but is also crippling the scalability of important security technologies. DNSSEC offers the most feasible solution to a serious threat.

The

DNS vulnerabilities and mitigating DNS cache poisoning attacks undermine the integrity of DNS system. Attacks will also come in the form of collection of credit card information and passwords, redirect email, or otherwise compromise applications. As per the findings of security experts, DNSSEC is an essential tool in sealing such attacks. By implementing an automated trust infrastructure, DNSSEC enables systems to verify the authenticity of the DNS information, and foils attackers attempts to direct users to alternate sites.

The features contribute to DNSSEC by Infoblox replace manual key generation and zone signing with a one-click process that generates and securely distributes encryption keys to all appliances in the Infoblox Grid that serve DNSSEC data. The FIPS-compliant option by F5 satisfies the most stringent military grade key security. The NIST recommended key polices and automatic rollover are handled by both F5 and Infoblox.

Ensuring high performance

and availability, F5 is deployed to load balance several Infoblox appliances. This configuration mitigates denial of service attacks on DNS. The superior tools provided by Infoblox allow customers to easily manage the adoption of IPv6 and the growth of IP addresses.

Overall, the partnership of these two companies wipes out the fear and spreads a sense of security among the customers.
