Samsung Launches 16 New Cameras

Samsung India unveiled its 2010 Digital Imaging (digital camera and camcorder) lineup in the Indian market.. Samsungs new 2010 digital camera range has models across the ES, PL, ST and WB Series, with each series having its own differentiated features. The new  digital camera range includes for the first time Made for India models that are dust proof and moisture proof; Dual LCD models in the more affordable PL series, as well as the waterproof camera, WP10. The Company is also for the first time showcasing its ultra portable NX10 Hybrid Digital camera model that contains intelligent features to put professional quality images within reach of the amateur photographer.  
 The new 2010 series of digital cameras and camcorders represent the Companys commitment to taking consumers to the next level in terms of innovation and performance in digital imaging, be it our flash memory based K series of digital camcorders or our new Made for India ES series of digital cameras. states Mr. Ravinder Zutshi, Deputy Managing Director, Samsung India Electronics. 


The Company announced the launch of its revolutionary ES73 model, which is the countrys first digital camera equipped with an Indian language (Hindi and Tamil) menu as well as an Anti dust and Moisture proof feature. This 12MP Digital camera with a 5X optical zoom, features a special night mode that has three differing intensities of flash to ensure that the images are in perfect balance. This model will be competitively priced at approximately Rs. 7,990/-. In the PL series, the PL100/PL150 are 12 mega-pixel Dual Display cameras that enable the consumer to shoot a self-portrait or profile picture with ease. The PL100/150 cameras have a front 1.5 LCD while the rear LCD is 2.7/3 230K respectively. While the PL100 is priced at Rs. 9,990/, the PL150 is priced at Rs.11, 990/-. 


The ST5000 series (ST5000/ST5500) is the ideal solution for consumers in search of an easy-to-use, pocket-sized digital camera. Stylish Slim with Hydro Forming Tech, the 14 mega-pixel camera features 7X Optical Zoom and a 3.7 Wide 1152K AMOLED Touch Screen Display housed in brushed stainless steel body. In addition, the ST5500 incorporates an additional feature of Built in Wireless Connectivity that allows the camera to be connected to other devices via WiFi, Bluetooth and AllShare (DLNA: still&movie).


Completing the range is the NX10, the Worlds first lens interchangeable Hybrid camera with APS-C sensor. Also considered the smallest and the lightest in Hybrid camera with APS-C sensor, the 14.6 Mega-pixel camera has features such as a 3.0" AMOLED display, Ultrasonic Dust Reduction, Fine Electronic Viewfinder (VGA class) and 720P HD Movie support. The Samsung NX10 includes in-depth manual controls and also a Smart Auto function which automatically detects the surrounding environment of the shot and selects the right shoot mode.


The entire Samsung digital camera range boasts of host of other features such as Smart Auto, Dual Image Stabilization, Smart Filter, Perfect Portrait System, Face Detection, Face Recognition, Red eye fix, Blink and Smile Detection, Beauty shot etc. 
In the camcorder segment, the Company has launched new models across its K Series, H series and F series. The key advantages of the flash based K series models are that they are light and compact, have no vibration, work under extreme conditions and have minimal wear and tear, states Mr. Zutshi. The K series can record videos at 720x480 pixels resolution, and then, via the built-in HDMI output, can play the videos at Full-HD quality on the HDTVs, thanks to the built-in upscaling technology. Furthermore, the K Series comes packed with a 65x Intelli-Zoom lens, Optical Image Stabilizer, play-edit-sharing program called Intelli-studio and the animated thumbnail feature that simplifies the way users search for video clips.


In the F Series, the F40 offers users substantial battery life of over four hours, world class Schneider optics, 42x Intelli-Zoom, a new image processor, which yields higher-quality video,   3-D Noise Reduction, Face Detection, a brighter 2.7 inch LCD display, all in a compact body. With built-in SSD capacity of 32GB and support for SDHC cards, you will never have to worry about running out of space again.


The H Series camcorders set a new standard for style and performance as the worlds first camcorder in SSD (Solid State Drive) format. The H106 is superior in storage, speed, security, size, reliability, consumes less energy and releases little heat and no noise emission. Seven times smaller and twelve times lighter than conventional HDD models, the H series has an enormous recording capacity of 64GB and 32GB. Due to lower power consumption, the H Series has a longer battery life, enabling users to enjoy recording without worrying about time constraints. In addition, because SSD has no moving parts, recording continues regardless of shocks and vibrations and its operation is quite literally silent. Also, far less heat will be generated than a conventional HDD, and the camcorder stays comfortable and cool at all times. H Series also has 2.7″ LCD display, 10x optical zooms, high-quality Schneiders Varioplan HD lenses, and Optical Image Stabilization to help counteract shaky video and blur.


With the addition of these new models, Samsungs Digital Still Cameras range comprises a total of 30 models priced between Rs. 7,990/- to Rs. 24,990/-. The Samsung Digital Camcorder range now has a total of 11 models, including the seven new launches, that are priced between Rs.16,990 to Rs 45,990.
