Hexaware opens new development centre in GurgaonPosted Wednesday, April 04, 2007 By Vibhu SharmaHexaware Technologies, a leading global provider of IT and BPO services based in India, has inaugurated its fourth development centre in India as a part of its expansion plans in North India. The new 12,949 sq.ft centre, which is located in Cyber Park, Gurgaon, is the first centre for Hexaware in the northern region of the country. The centre was inaugurated by the chief guest; President of NASSCOM, Kiran Karnik. Founder and Chairman, Hexaware Technologies, Atul Nishar said, "The Gurgaon Development Centre will enable Hexaware to tap the immense IT talent in North India. In the first phase, the centre has a capacity for 150 people which will be ramped up in phases to accommodate more than 1000 people in the next two-three years". The Gurgaon centre will provide testing services, ERP services, Product Engineering Services and Travel-Transportation-Hotel-Logistic (TTHL) services. Currently, the centre has a seating capacity for about 150 professionals. V B Singh has been appointed as the head of the new centre. He was earlier heading the Mainframe Competency Unity at Mumbai. While speaking to itVARnews, Executive Director and Chief Mentor, Hexaware Technologies, P.K. Sridharan commented, "This centre apart from our business expansion in North India will also help us to tap the immense talent of the northern region. Moreover, the facility will also result in the further growth of the company leading that will result in increasing our market share also". The company has a very good market presence not only in India but also at the international front. Hexaware has a very good clientele in countries like USA, Germany and UK. "The major contribution of our business comes from places like Germany and UK", Sridharan added. The chief guest at the event, President, NASSCOM, Kiran Karnik stated, "Hexaware is the 12th largest IT Software and Service exporter in India. The opening of this centre will definitely help in strengthening the IT industry in the Northern region, as the centre is equipped with latest infrastructure that will provide best quality services to the customers". The company has six global delivery centers - four in India, including the newly opened centre in Gurgaon and one each in Germany and Mexico. Elaborating more on the company's expansion plans, Sridharan explained, "At present, the main focus is on this newly developed centre. We at Hexaware believe that focus is very important and diversification should be done step by step.
