Transtek Infoways, a leading distributor of IT products has decided to target the market with addition of new products and channel expansion.

While speaking to itVARnews on the plans and strategies for 2007, Managing Director, Transtek Infoways, Rajeev Sood said, “For 2007, we have entered the New Year by bringing in two more industry leading products. These products are the Fujitsu HDD and Lacie External Products.”

The company believes that the programmes that involve channel expansion and adding up of new products should be on a timely basis. “Transtek is a young company and our endeavor over the last two years has been to add a few chosen products and offices once every two quarters and then spend time consolidating that expansion”, he added.

After adding the Fujitsu HDD and Lacie External Products, Transtek Infoways will add another couple of products during the course of the year once they have successfully consolidated sales for these two products.

Elucidating more on the company’s expansion plans, Sood stated, “Our challenge mostly is to grow in a streamline and focused manner in terms of both products and people. In addition to this, we will continue with our geographical expansion by adding 3-4 offices and some C&F arrangements.”

Transtek Infoways has been growing at a very steady quarterly rate of 30 to 35 percent. When asked about its strategy to take on the competition in the distribution business, Sood replied, “Each year brings with it fresh challenges and we have grown so far by taking these challenges and competition as a spur to motivate us to newer heights. We have taken a conservative path but we have been happier with this path because it helps us to stay focused”.
